The Astros dug themselves an early hole, but the offense came through to pick up the 8-4 win and sweep the Orioles.
Lance McCullers put the Astros in a bind after three runs (two earned) crossed the plate after the first two innings. He would lock in and over his next four innings, McCullers only allowed a single and two walks, striking out eight in total.
In the bottom of the second, the offense picked up McCullers sending 10 batters to the plate, scoring six runs.
Carlos Correa lead off with an infield single and came around to score when Marwin Gonzalez doubled him and Carlos Beltran in. While Correa would be the first person to score, he’d also be the last out of the inning.
The Astros in the third inning would tack on two more runs.
Yuli Gurriel, Correa, and Gonzalez all had two hits each.
