Down big to the Twins late, the Astros would rally and put together a historic comeback to pull out the 16-8 win Monday night.
Ervin Santana had the Astros number, in his seven innings pitched two runs would score (one earned) and he’d only allow five hits.
With Santana at 114 pitches, the Twins were forced to go the bullpen in the eighth up 8-2 and with him no longer in the game that’s when the Astros struck. By the end of the inning, not only had the Twins lost the lead, but they’d find themselves down 11-8 after the Astros sent 14 batters to the plate scoring 11 runs off of three different pitchers.
In the ninth inning, the Astros offense would tack on three more runs to seal the team’s epic come from behind win.
Carlos Beltran had four hits, three rib’s, and Marwin Gonzalez, Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa had two hits each.
